Quilters Bag

This workshop is for experienced sewers who are confident using a sewing machine.  You will be using a rotary cutter, quilters ruler and cutting mat. You will be quiliting, binding and inserting zipped pouches.  We have lots to cover in one day so bring along plenty of positive energy and a good packed lunch!   I will provide the refreshments & cake.

This workshop does not include materials.

This pattern is a Quilters sew together bag so it is  designed to be made out of 7 Fat Quarters - all co ordinating fabrics and preferably non directional.  They do not all have to be different fabrics ie. you could have a couple of half metre pieces and three fat quarters  – it’s just more fun to have a good mix.

The requirements are: 

Fabric - 7 Fat quarters (or as above)

Batting- 20" x 25" (20/80 cotton batting)

Zips - 3 x 14” (36cm) and 1 x 25” (64cm) standard coloured zipping. 

Thread - matching thread for quilting the outside of your bag

Rotary cutter and 24" x 6" quilters ruler

I have some plain beige zipping but you may want to have coloured zips to match your chosen fabrics: 

We do have some cutting mats quilters rulers & rotary cutters at the studio but please bring along your own quilters ruler and rotary cutter if you have them.
